Washing and Drying Guide
Maintaining a washable rug is essential to preserving its beauty, colors, and durability over time. Regular care keeps a rug clean, fresh, and vibrant while extending its lifespan. In this guide, discover our simple and effective tips for washing, drying, and maintaining your machine-washwashable or hand-washable rug, so it remains as elegant as the first day.
Discover how to best clean your machine-washable rugs by following these simple steps.
Keep your rugs fresh and in excellent condition with the right settings and precautions.
Before machine washing your rug, remove dust and surface dirt using a vacuum cleaner or by carefully shaking the rug. This step prevents dirt from accumulating in the washing machine filter and ensures a more effective wash for your washable rug.
Place the mat inside the washing machine with the top of the pattern facing outwards. This position helps preserve the mat's fibers and optimizes cleaning during the wash cycle.
Use a delicate cycle with cold or lukewarm water at 30°C (maximum 40°C). Opt for a mild detergent without bleach or whitening agents to preserve the colors, fibers, and quality of your washable rug.
Use only a small amount of detergent. An excessive dose can leave residue in the carpet fibers and alter its texture. A moderate amount is sufficient to effectively clean your washable rug.
It is recommended not to use fabric softener when washing your mat. Fabric softeners can alter the fiber structure and reduce the mat's durability and effectiveness.
We select durable materials and work on every detail with precision to offer a rug worthy of the most refined interiors.
If you use a tumble dryer, choose a low-temperature drying cycle. This helps to preserve the texture, fibers, and colors of your washable rug.
Place the mat in the dryer with the top of the pattern facing outwards. This position promotes more even drying and helps maintain the mat's shape.
If you prefer natural drying, lay the rug flat on a surface in a well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight to preserve the colors and fiber quality of your rug.
Spot Cleaning
To remove a small stain from your washable rug, apply a solution of lukewarm water mixed with a mild detergent directly to the affected area. Gently blot with a clean cloth until the stain disappears. Avoid scrubbing the rug's surface, as this could damage the fibers and alter the fabric's texture.
Rinsing
Once the stain is cleaned, rinse the area with a slightly damp cloth to remove any soap residue. Finish by gently blotting with a dry cloth to absorb excess moisture and preserve the appearance of your rug.
Chenille microfiber rugs are machine washable and easy to care for. However, some water-based paints like gouache or watercolor can penetrate deeper into the rug fibers. To effectively remove a stain from a washable rug, it's important to act quickly. Clean the area with warm water and a mild detergent, then repeat cleaning if necessary before the stain dries. This method helps preserve the cleanliness, color, and durability of your rug.
Do not use an iron as this may damage the rug and the material on the back of the rug
Vacuum it regularly with the rotating brushes switched off and remove any stains immediately.
